The Marton Harvest Festival is a day to let your hair down, picnic with friends and family, enjoy the music and celebrate the harvest season in true country fashion.
In addition to the usual festival activities there will pumpkin competitions including giant pumpkins, decorated pumpkins and of course a pumpkin pie competition. There will also be pumpkin bowling so be sure to get involved.
Marton is the home of Malteurop, a global leader in barley malting for beer, so if you are a home brewer make sure to get your entry into our very competitive home brew competition.
With over 160 quality stalls with everything from pickles and jams, paintings & pots, garden ornaments to jewellery, food and pot plants you will find all the gifts you need for the family and treats you want for yourself.
With live music throughout the day the ambience of the festival will be a positive toe tapping and knee raising event.
Be sure to check out the vintage displays, these machines were instrumental in forging our great town and New Zealand’s rural identity.
There is a scarecrow trail to follow around Marton, so download your map from this page (due to be released March 16th) and take a tour of Marton.
This is our day to celebrate our history, our heritage, our culture and our identity as a rural New Zealand town. It is our day to celebrate our harvest in the myriad forms it takes in our region.
So spread the word, grab the family, join your friends and neighbours and enjoy a fantastic day out with good food, great stalls and fantastic entertainment.
